Parents Information Year 8 & Year 10 ISA Tests
NOTICE OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS ASSESSMENT (ISA) TESTS
Dear Parents,
On the mornings of Wednesday, February 10, 2010 and Thursday, February 11, 2010, your child will participate in mathematics, reading and writing tests. These tests (known as ISAs) are prepared for international schools working in English by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) in order to give schools information about how well their pupils and classes are performing when compared with other international schools across the world. We require several years’ participation to gain the most helpful data and analysis which will help the teachers at OIS improve the focus of our planning and teaching for both individuals and groups of students.
Any results we receive will be used to inform us about the future educational needs of your child and their class. You will be notified about the results of your child's tests towards the end of term two.
We hope that you can ensure that your child attends school on both days as the data becomes more valuable when as many students take part as possible. No special preparation by the pupils is needed as the tests are designed to take a ‘snapshot’ of what they can do now.
Yours sincerely,
Peter McGhan
ISA Test Coordinator
