10am - 2pm: This event is for all new students in Years 7 through IB1. The session will be led by Secondary School Counsellor, Diane Cooper.
Dates for the Diary 2025-26
To follow are a few important dates to note for the start of the academic year 2025-26. Please note that few of the events listed below already have sign-up links. Community members can view a full calendar of events for the new school year by logging into the Community Portal and checking the Calendar section.
Important Dates for Start of Year
Library
1pm - 2pm: Although this induction is intended for Primary students, parents are welcome to attend to support their child.
Playground
2:00pm- 3:30pm: This event will take place after the induction session. New families are invited to meet and mingle over refreshments.
Playground (Primary & Lower Secondary); IB Building (Upper Secondary)
8:30am: Primary and Lower Secondary students meet on main playground, where contact teachers will greet them. 8:30am: Upper Secondary students in Pre-IB and IB1 meet outside the adjacent IB Building.
Innovation Space
9:00am - 10:30am: This event will take place in the Innovation Space near the main lobby. Learn about the extra curricular activities offered in the local area outside of school, and meet our Parent Association!
On-line registration via Community Portal
12:00 noon: Registration for the OIS After School Activities Programme opens. Sign-up is via the Community Portal on our website (note that places may be limited for some activities).
Gjønnes Park
11:30am - 1:00pm: This event is open to all community members. There is no requirement to be a runner - just join the fun! Warm-up on the playground, followed by run in park adjacent to IB building. Sign-up here!
Playground (weather permitting)
1:30pm - 4:30pm: This event will take place right after the Community Run, on the main playground (weather permitting). Lunch will be served and entertainment organised. Sign-up here!
Pre-School section of school
5:30pm - 7:00pm: This event will take place in the Pre-School section.
Multi-Purpose Hall (Lower Secondary); IB Building (Upper Secondary)
5:30pm - 7:00pm: Two separate events to take place - one for Lower Secondary (MPH) and one for Upper Secondary (IB Building).
Throughout School
The After School Activities Programme will officially start on this date. Parents can see the full calendar of activities in the Community Portal.
Multi Purpose Hall
5:30pm - 7:00pm: The Primary parent information evening will take place in the Multi Purpose Hall of the main building.
Online
4:30pm - 5:30pm: A link to this online event will be shared nearer the time.
Sæteren Farm
11:00am - 2:30pm: This is a family walk to a local farm around 3 km from Bekkestua. A great way to meet new families and enjoy the Norwegian outdoors. Sign-up here!
