School Leadership Team

Committed to excellence

Behind every successful school is a dedicated team working together towards a common purpose. At OIS, our Leadership Team brings together expertise from across education, finance and human resources to ensure the school runs smoothly and continues to provide the very best experience for our students.

Working closely with staff, students and families, they provide strategic direction while supporting the day-to-day life of the school and planning for its future.

Board of Trustees

Strategic governance

Oslo International School (OIS) is organised as a not-for-profit foundation. It is regulated by Norwegian law, and a Board of Trustees oversees the activities of the foundation. Working in partnership with the Head of School, the Board provides strategic oversight, ensures sound financial management and helps shape the school's long-term direction.

The Board's key responsibilities include:

  • Appointing, supporting and appraising the Head of School
  • Guiding and monitoring the school's overall strategic direction
  • Ensuring sound financial management

The Board is made up of nine members, elects the chairperson, and appoints new members when necessary. Board members serve for two years and can be re-appointed. Each member of the Board makes decisions on the basis of what is best for the school, rather than representing a constituency. The Board currently meets approximately eight times each school year.
