Board of Trustees
Strategic governance and leadership
Oslo International School (OIS) is organised as a not-for-profit foundation. It is regulated by Norwegian law and a board of trustees oversees the activities of the foundation.
The primary functions of the Board are to:
-
Appoint, support and appraise the Head of School
-
Guide/monitor the overall strategic direction of the school
-
Ensure sound financial management of the school
The Board is made up of 9 members, elects the chairperson, and appoints new members when necessary. Board members serve for two years and can be re-appointed. Each member of the Board makes decisions on the basis of what is best for the school, rather than representing a constituency. The Board currently meets approximately 8 times each school year.
