OIS is accredited by CIS. Accreditation is a process by which a school seeks approval/validation from an outside agency. There are many organisations which offer to evaluate and accredit schools. The process varies from agency to agency. The purpose of the CIS programme is to provide a professionally sound scheme of self-evaluation and independent inspection, particularly for international schools. Involvement in the programme provides a valuable stimulus for schools to think more deeply about their situation and opportunities, and to plan for improvements. Once accredited, the school is locked into a process of regular reviews to ensure continued quality assurance. After undertaking a comprehensive review, OIS was first accredited in Autumn 2002. In December 2010 the school was awarded a full ten year re-accreditation by CIS and NEASC.
