School Fees

OIS charges a 5,000 NOK non-refundable application fee for the processing and review of a student application. This is per student and does not carry forward to any future applications.

In addition to the annual fees, new students will be invoiced a 25.000 NOK new student registration fee, per student. 

This is a one-time payment for new students admitted to Year 1 or above and is non-refundable.

If a student joins at the Pre-School level, this registration fee will be assessed when they re-enrol for Year 1. 

Early in each calendar year, OIS sends a form to all current OIS families who should confirm, decline, or indicate they are undecided on re-enrolment for the next school year.

In March, those families who confirm they are returning to OIS for the next school year will be required to pay a non-refundable 10,000 NOK deposit per child to temporarily hold their place.  Payment of the Re-enrolment Fee will only hold the place if all outstanding fees with OIS have been settled. This deposit is deducted from the school fees of Billing Invoice 1.

Families who are undecided on their return may elect to pay this deposit to secure their child(ren)'s place.

Seats will be released to new applicant families if this deposit is not received by the designated due date in March.

OIS invoices school fees during two billing periods:

1. Fall term (Billing Invoice 1):
   1. Typically due on or around the 15th of May (preceding the upcoming school year) for all newly admitted and re-enrolling families.
   2. This instalment represents roughly 45% of total annual school fees.
2. Winter and Spring terms (Billing Invoice 2):
   1. Typically due on or around 1 December preceding the beginning of the winter term.
   2. This instalment represents roughly the remaining 55% of total annual school fees.

2024-25 Annual Fees:

Round trip - 24,000 NOK/student

One way - 14,000 NOK/student

OIS is proud to sponsor a variety of activities and athletics events, after-school activities, and clubs. Once you become a member of the OIS community, you will be granted access to our Community Portal, where you can find out about all of the things that your child loves.

After the re-enrollment of current families and the review of all new Category 1 and 2 applicants, OIS may choose to admit a limited number of reduced-rate paying local students, referred to as Category 3 in both the application and OIS Admissions Policy.

Because OIS is an independent not-for-profit school that does not receive Norwegian government funding, reduced-rate (Category 3) space is offered on a limited basis. It is important to note that the availability of these spaces varies from year to year, and there are instances when no reduced-rate places are available. Current OIS families are not eligible to move to this category.

The annual fee for the current year (2023-24) is 251,600 NOK for Years 1 - IB2 and 30,000 NOK for Pre-School.
