Healthy packed lunches

Many of you have experienced schools with fully operating cafeterias or cafes. In Norway it is common to bring home-made lunches each day.

We do not have a cafeteria at OIS–all our students bring their own lunches. This daily chore can be an added stress on the family. Find ways to involve your children in preparing lunches when appropriate. Making meals the night before can be helpful. Thermos bowls are a good option for keeping food warm. Search for healthy recipes together that your child may like to eat. At OIS, we encourage healthy food choices including many fruits and vegetables with limited sweets and sugars. Sodas are not allowed. We follow a strict NO NUT policy as some students and staff are allergic.
