How to talk to children about abduction

If an incident occurs in your community, speak frankly but with reassurance about it. Explain to your children that you want to discuss the safety rules with them, so that they will know what to do if they are ever confronted with a difficult situation. Parents should choose opportunities or "teachable" moments to reinforce safety skills. Make sure you have "safety nets" in place, so that your children know there is always someone they can talk to in a calm and supportive setting. Oslo International School would like to share some more  guidelines for how to help your child(ren) when faced with a challenging situation.
