Campus Resources

An environment conducive to learning and personal growth

Our goal is to create an environment that promotes learning and personal growth, and we are committed to providing the resources and support our students need. The two-building OIS campus includes classrooms, study areas, labs, a library, innovation space, multi-purpose and sports halls.

Library

The OIS Library is a 300 square metre space located in the heart of the school, containing an up-to-date collection of over 15,000 books and online resources. It is staffed by a full-time Librarian and a Teacher Librarian, who provide assistance to students, staff and parents.

Students have the possibility to search, borrow, reserve and renew books independently online. The facility encompasses a research and collaboration section, fiction and non-fiction sections catering to different divisions of school, relaxed reading areas and an exciting young readers inspiration space with a Norse mythology theme, including a huge fabric tree and crawl-in reading pods.

Innovation Space

One of the newer features of our campus is the Innovation Space, located next to the Library. This large and versatile space boasts folding glass walls that allow natural light to flood in, creating a bright and inspiring environment for inquisitive minds.

Equipped with high-spec equipment including a laser cutter and a 3D printer, the Innovation Space is not only a great resource for students to learn new technology skills, but it also encourages innovation and creativity. The space is regularly used for hands-on learning and project-based activities, and is an essential part of our mission to foster innovation and offer an optimal learning environment for our students.

Sports & Recreation Areas

The school has a large gym hall with a balcony viewing gallery, and a multi-purpose hall with retracting screen and stow away bleachers for concert and assembly seating.

There are several outdoor recreation areas around school, comprising two large playgrounds and two inner courtyards. Our youngest students have a dedicated play area with age-appropriate equipment, including tricycles and sandpit. The school also has use of a green field opposite the main playground, and an astro-turf pitch that belongs to the local football team. A large public park is situated within close walking distance, and is often used for group sports events.

Nutritious and Tasty Hot Lunches

We work with a local catering supplier to offer hot lunches (up to three times a week) to those students who have signed up for the service.

The menus are designed to be nutritious and balanced, providing students with a warm and satisfying meal. Different dietary needs are catered for on a menu that changes regularly, ensuring there is a variety of options to choose from. This optional service is a convenient and tasty way for students to fuel their bodies and minds during the school day.

Dedicated School Bus Service

Our Optional Bus Service is designed to make it easy for students to get to and from school.

Covering parts of Oslo, Bærum, and Asker, the service links with other forms of public transport, including buses and trains, to ensure that students can get to school with ease. Staff members help our youngest students both on and off the buses, providing an extra layer of safety and security.

This service is a great option for those who are looking for a safe and reliable way to get to and from school.
