Getting Ready for the IB Diploma Programme
The purpose of the Pre-IB curriculum is to make the transition from Lower to Upper Secondary smoother for students and prepare them fully for the rigorous demands of the IB Diploma Programme.
Students study 6-7 academic subjects concurrently; they are required to study English, Mathematics, a Humanities subject, a Science and a Second Language. In addition, students continue to study Physical Education as well as 3 courses intended to further prepare them for the IB Diploma Programme, namely IB Prep, Introduction to Economics and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). IB Prep is a course in critical thinking as well as study and research skills. Introduction to Economics is a short course designed to give students an insight into the nature of a subject not previously studied. CAS is a project centred course to prepare students for the CAS component of the IB Diploma Programme.
