Physical Education programme

OIS offers a comprehensive Physical Education programme in modern premises that comprise a large new sports hall, a multi-purpose gym and a weights room. We also make use of the modern municipal swimming pool next door, as well as several sports fields, courts and tracks in the nearby vicinity.

The PE programme allows students to try a variety of sports including Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Handball, Floorball, Athletics, Soccer, Orienteering, Swimming and Fitness. We also encourage participation in international sports competitions throughout the school year. Competitive sports include football, basketball, floorball and running.

After School Activities Programme (ASAP)

The extracurricular programme is an extension of the core curriculum at OIS. Our students are physically and mentally challenged to attain–to the best of their abilities–a variety skills that they can use throughout life. Many of our after school activities are organised and run on campus by highly qualified external instructors.

External affiliates

ASAP also works with external affiliates that provide sports and extra-curricular activities within the greater Oslo area. These are organised and run by local clubs and organisations, and open to OIS families and students. Community offerings include: American Football, Gymnastics, Golf, Baseball, Hockey, Tennis, Skating, Skiing, Swimming, Rowing, Scuba Diving and many more. If you are looking for a particular activity, we can help you find it.
